IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

ELM BRIDGES WILL BE CLOSED FROM 9 FEBRUARY 2011 FOR 27 WEEKS

During the closure, which is expected to last 27 weeks, a diversion route will be put in place.  Traffic approaching the town from the direction of Old Woking will be directed down Vicarage Road, along Westfield Road and back up the A320.  Traffic moving in the direction of Old Woking, will need to reverse these directions, although it should be noted that Wych Hill Lane will be closed in an easterly direction from Turnoak Roundabout, so access to residents will only be via Claremont Avenue.

Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained over the bridge until it is demolished, at that time a short diversion will be put in place on the northern bank of Hoe Stream and you will be able to cross at the park access bridge, this will be in place until the new bridge is opened. We really hope that you will be able to choose to cycle or walk to college, or at least the last 20 minutes in order to avoid the inevitable traffic congestion.

Clearly many students will have a significantly increased journey time to college and we urge you all to leave at least 30 minutes earlier than usual until you determine your actual journey time to College
