Woking College Students raise £1500 for Charity in just 40 minutes

Students at Woking College raised a massive £1500 in just 40 minutes at its first Charity Day Fun Festival.

Students were challenged to come up with an original event to enable them to raise money for local charities.

The event took place across the College with staff and students entering into the spirit by donating £1 per activity

Over 45 activities were staged ranging from a chilli eating competition (with one student managing a breath taking 19 in one go!) to a close up magician, name the teddy bear, wax the teachers legs, celebrity photo booth and an Iron Man competition.

Assistant Principal Nuweed Razaq who organised the event commented :

"Working with young people, I am always inspired by their dedication and commitment to helping others. The fair focused on our sense of community at Woking College and raised money for good causes whilst having fun at the same time. Students are already planning the next event.”

Funds raised will be given to local charities including Woking Hospice and The White Lodge Project.
