Science in Society

Are you interested in 21st century issues? This course helps students think about issues such as GM foods, disease and vaccinations, whether mobile phones damage the brain, and cars and the environment. It is aimed at all students whatever other subjects they are studying. There is an opportunity for students to research and report on an issue of choice and provide a personal comment on a 'scientific' text. The integrated course allows students to sit two AS exams.

And afterwards… The integrated course is designed to broaden knowledge and make students think about how science is portrayed in the media and about environmental issues.
