Geography

Geography enables you to study contemporary issues within physical, human and environmental themes. At AS Level in physical geography you will investigate issues such as rivers and coasts and their management. In human geography topics include the challenges of global population changes and patterns of health. Fieldwork is part of the examination so there is a residential fieldtrip which you are required to attend. At A2 Level global topics will be examined within the themes of plate tectonics and natural hazards, ecosystems, world cities, urban decline and regeneration. Fieldwork is part of the course at A2 Level. Assessment at both AS and A2 is by written examination.

And afterwards... The skills developed through the collection and interpretation of information, team working and IT are valuable in careers such as finance, insurance and business. For Geography graduates surveying, town planning, landscape architecture, international trade and marketing are popular careers.
