Ancient History

The Ancient History course provides students with the opportunity to explore the cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome. At AS Level, you will have the chance to study Greco-Roman society through the materials they left behind - archaeological sites, artefacts and literature. This encourages you to develop your visual and written analysis skills. At A Level you will explore Greece in conflict by studying the Peloponnesian Wars and the growth of the Athenian Empire. You will also study the early Emperors and find out how the Roman Empire became the strongest power of the ancient world.

And afterwards… Ancient History prepares students for a wide range of careers, including Law, museum curatorship, teaching, journalism and the civil service. Ancient History is useful for a wide range of degrees including Law, English and History.
