Our excellent careers department has a wealth of experience when it comes to helping our students with their choices beyond Woking College.

We can provide:

  • Advise on the Higher Education application process.
  • Information on conferences for those considering a career in medicine, veterinary science, law and engineering and offer “fast track” advice on these subjects.
  • Specialist further and higher education applications to art, music and performing arts colleges.
  • Advice on Oxbridge applications through a specialist Oxbridge tutor.
  • Information packs and literature on student finance and guidance on completion of the forms.
  • More information and advice on gap year schemes and placements, work experience, employment opportunities and career choices.
  • Visits by representatives from specialist careers such as the Army to give presentations to interested students.
  • Help with a job applications by providing help to write a CV, arranging a mock interview
  • Activities during the year including visits to the Higher Education Convention at Surrey University in April and special university open days.  The college holds its own Progression Conference in June.
  • Work experience opportunities for all students who request assistance.
  • Specialist Oxbridge entrance advice.
  • Assistance in UCAS applications.

The College has a service agreement with Surrey Careers through Connexions and one of their Officers visits College each week.  Students can book appointments.

The Careers Coordinator is available during the day to give advice on careers, application to Higher Education and employment.  The College has a very well stocked careers library.

The careers area is within the Learning Resource Centre and students are welcome to visit it at any time. Contact the Careers Coordinator for further details.
